Manuel Turizo (full name Manuel Turizo Zapata) is an urbano and reggaeton singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Colombia whose trademark is his smooth buttery tenor singing voice. The Latin Pop mainstream has been impacted by his global reach. Una Lady Como Tu, the hit song from 2016 received the Colombian Kids Choice Award in 2017 for Best Song. In 2017, he dropped ADN, his first long-player for La Industria Inc. in Medellin. In the Top Latin Albums chart, it reached No. 8. Vaina Loca was an instant Top Five hit for Ozuna and him the year after. Mala Influencia, made available in 2020 by Noriel as well as his Dopamina album the following year. In 2021, he sang a duet. He sang a duet 2021 along with TINI in her smash hit Maldita Foto. The smash hit La Bachata from 2000 was published in 2023. Turizo was born into a family of musicians his mother and older brother have been musicians. In interviews, he has stated that music was a necessity. As a child he learned how to play the saxophone, ukulele and piano. His initial choice of career was to be a veterinarian, but his brother Julian convinced him to study singing with a Cuban teacher. What happened was that he discovered his own talent for singing and altered the direction of his life.
